JOB TITLE: CHEMIST
The post is based on the Piper Bravo on a 3/3 rotation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Carry out chemical sampling, monitoring and analysis to support production operations including but not limited to:
2. Oil-in-water
3. PWRI water quality
4. BS&W sampling and analysis
5. Residual chlorine and oxygen content
6. Potable Water quality monitoring and sampling for onshore analysis
7. H2S sampling and Analysis
8. Gas Analysis
9. Potable water sampling
10. Compile and issue Laboratory daily report. Update and maintain Laboratory manual
11. Monitor and adjust chemical dosage rates to comply with range limits.
12. Support Chemical trial and tests
13. Utilise Chemical reporting database (CMCR)
14. Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective handovers are carried out at shift and crew change
15. Participate in Root Cause Analysis activities to improve process reliability
16. Identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in production, cost or time without loss of integrity and present to management
17. Support and improve team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices.
18. Participate in PFM competence scheme including any multi skilled role in accordance with the relevant competence framework
19. Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
20. Create, maintain & enhance effective working relations and identify and minimise interpersonal conflict
21. Maintain effective communication with all work colleagues at all levels
22. Take personal responsibility for safety and adhere to Petrofac’s life saving rules
23. Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Sinopec’s HS&E policy, procedures and Safety Management System and any statutory requirements or obligations
24. Be familiar with and follow the Sinopec Golden Rules for Health and Safety at all times
25. Comply with all relevant PFM HS&E policies and procedures where appropriate
26. Actively participate and support all Sinopec and PFM Health, Safety & Environmental plans, initiatives and improvements
27. Carry out all activities in accordance with ISSOW including the following:
28. Comprehensive and detailed Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks
29. Stop and re-asses any job where change is identified
30. Report all accidents and incidents
31. Carry out Emergency Response duties in accordance with Sinopec’s requirements
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
32. A minimum of and HNC in Chemistry or equivalent
33. Oil in water
34. Pressurised sampling of produced fluids
35. Gas chromatograph
36. Good practices for sampling offshore
37. Maximo User
38. Previous experience in a similar offshore role
39. Previous experience with Maximo or similar CMMS
40. Computer literate including use of Microsoft office suite
