Job Description:
Wood is currently resourcing for upcoming projects. We are seeking expressions of interest for Senior, Principal, & Lead Instrument & Control Engineers working on a staff basis in Staines-upon-Thames.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing project work in accordance with Discipline Design Instructions, Wood and/or Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control, within the man-hour, cost budgets, and project schedule targets.
The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and confident in delivering the Control and Instrumentation scope on time and within budget, while facilitating effective work sharing with other execution centers worldwide.
Scope of Work:
* Develop specifications and prepare material requisitions for control systems, instruments, control valves, and other instruments.
* Issue material requisitions to the Material Management Department for enquiry, order placement, and revisions.
* Prepare and update the Master Requisition Index regularly.
* Review vendors’ quotations, evaluate technical and commercial aspects, and recommend the final vendor.
* Hold coordination and engineering review meetings with vendors of major equipment.
* Liaise with other groups and clients as necessary.
* Assess progress, generate reports, and suggest plans to recover slippage and improve efficiency.
* Advise on major slippages, technical issues, and client change requests.
* Assist in preparing Auxiliary Flow Diagrams and maintain project document filing systems.
* Ensure quality standards in project deliverables, within budget and schedule.
* Participate in site visits, surveys, and discussions with vendors, contractors, and clients.
* Support discipline contributions to proposals, including interpreting technical content and liaising with estimating teams.

Candidate Requirements:
* Technically proficient and up-to-date with technological advances.
* Ability to produce technically correct documentation on schedule.
* Experience in a similar contractor environment is essential.
* Experience reviewing Engineering Flow Diagrams, Piping Layouts, and Models related to equipment.
