Learning & Development Manager
Equans is looking for a Learning & Development Manager to join our team in Newcastle on a permanent basis. This is a full‑time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, bonus and benefits package.
As a Learning & Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving the development and delivery of impactful learning solutions that align with business objectives and support organisational performance. Operating as a trusted advisor to functional and operational leaders, you will work closely with stakeholders to identify capability needs, design tailored interventions, and evaluate their effectiveness to ensure measurable improvement in individual and team performance.
This role sits at the intersection of strategic business support and professional development. You will collaborate with colleagues across HR, Operations, and the wider L&D function to implement targeted learning initiatives, support leadership and talent development, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
What will you deliver?
* Manage the allocated resource within the Learning and Development Coordination team, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources.
* Collaborate with operational leaders and functional heads to identify learning needs and align development solutions with strategic goals.
* Design, deliver, or commission learning interventions across face‑to‑face, virtual, and blended learning formats.
* Conduct skills gap assessments and training needs analyses to inform targeted learning programmes.
* Manage and support the rollout of company‑wide training programmes (e.g., leadership development, onboarding, compliance training, operational (including technical)).
* Apply learning evaluation models (e.g., Kirkpatrick, ROI) to measure program impact and continuous improvement; provide management reports for the Senior Leadership Team.
* Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders including HR, Talent, Bid Teams, SHEQ, Subject Matter Experts and business leaders.

Who are we looking for?
* Experience managing multiple L&D projects simultaneously, from planning through to execution and review.
* Proven experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital platforms (e.g., Cross Knowledge, SuccessFactors, LinkedIn Learning), including implementation and ongoing maintenance.
* Proven ability to work with other HR disciplines (Talent Acquisition, Performance, DE&I) to ensure joined‑up people strategies.
* Experience ensuring training programs meet industry, legal, or internal compliance standards (especially in regulated sectors).
* Experience supporting learning needs across multiple locations or regions, ideally in a matrixed or complex organisational setting.
