We are currently recruiting passionate Teaching Assistants to join a highly supportive SEN school in Darlington on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to build strong relationships with pupils and contribute positively to their learning, development, and overall wellbeing.
About the School
* A well-established and inclusive SEN school based in Darlington
* Supports pupils aged 2-19, with opportunities across both primary and secondary phases
* A collaborative and supportive working environment, with a strong leadership team
* Staff work closely together to provide consistent, high-quality support for all learners
The Role
* Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs
* Support learners with needs including ASD, ADHD, PMLD, MLD, and SEMH
* Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and engaging in learning activities
* Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
* Work closely with class teachers and wider staff to understand individual learning needs
* Provide personal care where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
About You
We are looking for individuals who are:
* Experienced in working with children in UK school settings
* Ideally qualified in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, or a related field (desirable)
* Confident in building positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
* Resilient, proactive, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
* Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Requirements
* Right to work in the UK
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Two professional references covering the last two years (child-related)
