Lead Project ProfessionalLocation: Warton, LancashireContract: 12 MonthsHours: 37 hours per weekWorking Pattern: Minimum 3 days onsite per weekRate: £45.65 per hour PAYEThe Opportunity We are recruiting for a Lead Project Professional to join BAE Systems' Service Delivery team, supporting the delivery of key contracts across the Typhoon programme. This role will provide project management support across Capability Development, Support, Replacement Aircraft, Obsolescence, and Production activities. Working within a highly collaborative environment, you will play a key role in ensuring contract deliverables are achieved, project performance is maintained, and stakeholders remain aligned throughout the project lifecycle.Key Responsibilities
* Provide project management support across complex engineering and defence programmes.
* Deliver projects in accordance with the Life Cycle Management Framework and Project Management Plans.
* Monitor project performance against cost, schedule, and quality targets.
* Review progress regularly and proactively resolve issues that could impact delivery.
* Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.
* Identify, assess, and manage project risks, opportunities, and dependencies.
* Prepare and present project performance updates, corrective actions, and progress reports.
* Support planning reviews and governance activities across multiple workstreams.
* Ensure compliance with company processes, standards, and safety requirements.

* Experience in a Project Manager, Project Professional, or similar project delivery role.
* Proven experience managing complex engineering or technical projects.
* Strong understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
* Experience managing project performance across time, cost, and quality objectives.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
Desirable
* Experience within the defence or aerospace sector.
* Formal project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMI or equivalent) or working towards one.
