Quality Improvement Fellow (QIP) in SDEC

Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated doctor at ST1 or above who would like to gain fantastic experience in the acute management of medical patients and develop a specialist interest in QIP. This is a 1 year fixed term post with an immediate start.
The appointee will work as part of the enthusiastic and dynamic Acute Medicine team, which is a consultant led, multidisciplinary team for Urgent and Ambulatory care. The team offers fast, efficient ambulatory and on-going care for patients with acute care needs. The team has a close and excellent working relationship with our Emergency Department and local GPs.
The successful applicant will have the be leading on medicine based QIP projects with opportunity for leadership and development of new projects.
Main duties of the job
* Maintenance of the highest clinical standards in the management of patients.
* To work flexibly to cover the needs of the Department.
* Assisting with teaching and training of junior staff and medical students.
* To actively participate in both departmental and Trust matters concerning
* Clinical Governance and audit.
* To have responsibility for ensuring active participation in continuing medical education (CME).
* To gain experience in acute management of all medical patients, by providing emergency treatment to stabilise acute conditions, both before admission and during admission.

Qualifications
* Full registration with the General Medical Council
* Valid ALS (Resus Council UK)
Experience
* High commitment to clinical work
* Demonstable experience at ST1+ level after full GMC registration or equivalent
* Experience of performing QIP to a high standard
* Experience of completing an audit cycle
* Presented a completed QIP/audit at a national and/or international conference
* Published the findings of a completed QIP and/or audit
