The base is to be determined and will be at an ambulance station in the east 4 sector in Greater Manchester, on a full-time and permanent basis.The successful candidate will work as part of a team of PTS Operational Managers with responsibility for the effective management of the staff in PTS operations, ensuring the provision of a first-class PTS service with more than 1.2m journeys each year.Applicants should have developed knowledge of the NHS and local context, and hold a recognised management/leadership qualification or suitable relevant experience.

Applicants should have experience of working in an operational environment and have a highly developed and visible leadership style.Main duties of the jobAccountable for the direct delivery of transport services to patients travelling for non-urgentand non-emergency treatment within a specified area, ensuring all operational resourcesemployed in the delivery of the service are clinically appropriate to the patients' needs,ensuring standards of patients and staff safety are adhered to, and quality andperformance targets are met.The PTS Operations Manager will ensure the development and maintenance of strong localcollaborative working and stakeholder engagement with senior managers acrossorganisational boundaries, and the effective management of the local reputation to ensureongoing deliverability and sustainability of the service.The PTS Operations Manager will be directly responsible for the effective management andvisible leadership of Team Leaders, Ambulance Care Assistants and volunteers within the service delivery, responsible for ensuring delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient service to patients and stakeholders, ensuring operational risks are effectively managed.Working for our organisationNorth West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. This service makes it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England and provides non-emergency medical help fast, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.Detailed job description and main responsibilitiesThe post holder will mainly work Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00hrs under NHS Agenda for Change guidelines. The PTS service operates seven days a week and may occasionally be required to work unsocial hours, including Bank Holidays.
