Wood is recruiting for a Structural Integrity Engineer to join its Operated Assets business within our Operations team focusing on providing structural inspection and integrity management support to our clients North Sea assets ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, operational, and commercial requirements. This is a 12 month contract position inside IR35 and based at our clients office in Aberdeenshire with Hybrid working. LI-Hybrid The Role The Structural Integrity Engineer will implement, maintain & develop the Structural Integrity Management System on nominated asset(s) and be the focal point for all structural integrity issues on nominated asset(s). You will maintain MCDR register (ONE-Aim) and ensures all structural defects are assessed in accordance with procedure with remedial actions in place to mitigate risk and ensure close out of MCDR in suitable time frame. For structural MCDRs requiring engineering ROs to address provide support to Operations by ensuring RO register is maintained and through attendance at monthly RO meeting. We build long term strategic relationships with clients across each of our 4 sub-service lines: Decommissioning, Operations & Maintenance, Duty Holder and Optimised Energy. We project manage decommissioning scopes and provide skilled people offshore to help our clients get the best out their assets and keep them ahead. We introduce the latest digital and decarb tools Wood has to offer making sure we are continuously driving value for clients and keep making them smarter and faster. Responsibilities Ensure that annual subsea structural inspection scopes are implemented by the Subsea Inspection Engineer and review results and anomalies Generate deferrals for structural inspections that will not be completed by RBI due date and submit to Structural TA for approval Prepare annual integrity reports for structures through analysis of inspection results, opened and closed MCDRs, fabric maintenance and repair programs and structural monitoring results, report to include conclusions on current state of structural integrity and recommendations to ensure on-going integrity Provide support, as required, to the Structural TA, CNS and NNS Structural Engineers in the development / maintenance of the Structural Integrity Management System Develop and issue inspection work packs for topsides structural components Provide input into the development of workpacks for subsea structural components, including as required creation of Nexus Task listing for ROV surveys Support Structural TA, CNS and NNS Structural Engineers in undertaking structural RBI Assessments Support the development of annual integrity budgets covering all required inspection activities Provide monthly updates to inspection spend and forecast Supervision of specialist vendor structural integrity activity e.g., caisson inspections, UAV surveys, differential settlement surveys Ensures Technical Compliance in accordance with clients Integrity Management Standards, Safety Management System and all relevant Statutory Instruments, Codes, Regulations, Practice Notes, Safety Notices and Flashes Provides support to the Integrity Manager and / or Structural TA in communications with regulatory bodies, partners and external customers and ensures information is presented in a timely manner and that the Company’s commercial, contractual and HSE obligations are achieved Ensures HSE and IVB audit findings relating to structural integrity are appropriately followed up Undertakes routine offshore visits, performs safety and technical site audits Qualifications What makes you remarkable? Expected: Degree in a relevant engineering discipline Experience within structural engineering discipline in the oil and gas industry Ability to read and interpret commonly used engineering drawings and data sets used in support of structural inspection activities Detailed knowledge of the uses and limitations of commonly applied structural inspection techniques applied topsides and subsea e.g., Eddy Current Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Alternating Current Field Measurement, Flooded Member Detection, CP system survey Awareness of the key degradation mechanisms associated with the deterioration of offshore structures e.g., corrosion, fatigue, fretting Knowledge of UK offshore operations and infrastructure Knowledge of hazard identification and risk assessment techniques and their application to the development and maintenance of asset integrity programs Ability to manage and supervise sub-contracted organisations and personnel, manage budget and plans Experience of the contract tendering / award process and in contract / vendor services management Awareness of key legislation and regulatory framework applicable to offshore regime with an understanding of major accident hazards, performance standards, assurance, and verification activities Awareness of subsea operations to ensure delivery of effective asset integrity assurance Commercial awareness and experience of budget management Up to date knowledge of technological developments and industry initiatives Working knowledge of repair techniques available for offshore structural components Awareness of structural design codes and the application of same to fitness for purpose assessment e.g., ISO 19900 series, API RP 2A, ANSI/AISC 360-10 Desirable: Chartered Engineer status with an appropriate engineering council registered body Postgraduate or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant engineering discipline Current Offshore Medical, BOSIET & MIST Awareness of paint coat specifications and associated applications Ability to apply simple fitness for purpose assessments for structural defects
