Product Manager (Pain and Sedation Portfolio)

We are thrilled to open applications for a pivotal Product Manager role within our Companion Animal business, leading the marketing strategy for our Pain and Sedation portfolio. This high-profile position is central to shaping and executing brand strategy, driving commercial performance, and delivering innovative, customer-centric campaigns across both traditional and digital channels. The successful candidate will own the full marketing mix-from strategic planning and pricing to omnichannel engagement and demand generation-while collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Technical, and Global Marketing teams. With a strong focus on digital transformation, this role is ideal for a dynamic marketer with a passion for data-driven decision-making, customer insight, and delivering measurable impact. Job Purpose

The Product Manager role owns the marketing strategy, planning, and execution for all brands in the portfolio alongside business tools/services supporting business growth.

This high profile role covering the pain and sedation portfolio is responsible for leading on all elements of the marketing mix including:

Strategy and Market Planning

* In collaboration with stakeholders using your market knowledge contribute and shape the short and long-term marketing strategy and vision.
* Lead on the annual marketing planning workstream. Work alongside the Marketing Manager to define the go to market plan across multiple channels and A&P expenditure.
* Deliver the tactical and commercial plans aligned to the assigned A&P budget, whilst measuring against a robust ROI assessment process
* Use market intelligence and business planning tools to continuously develop, review and revise an inventory forecast, working closely with the demand planning team to meet and exceed forecast accuracy targets.
* Determine and agree with Business Unit and Commercial Operations leaders the appropriate pricing structure to maximise sales and profitability. Consider value-based pricing, market conditions and Account Manager flexibility
* Maintain expertise with the evolving portfolio of products, services, pricing, competition, market, and industry trends

Relationships

* Co-create sales and business development plans for our largest key accounts and work in partnership with the Key Account team to develop these commercial relationships.
* Lead the cross functional team, work with colleagues from sales, technical and commercial to ensure alignment of marketing, sales activities and account plans. Measure and track against defined KPI's and be able to adjust as needed.
* Conduct regular customer visits to gain customer insights. Use this knowledge to feed into marketing plans
* Engage with the internal Global marketing team and European COE to enable sharing of best practice and align with growth / product lifecycle strategies and timings.
* Create networks of resources within the team around each product and marketing campaign. Utilise all resources available including Account Managers, value add service providers, technical teams, Veterinarians.
* Draw on the broad knowledge of your colleagues and wider network to identify and capitalise on new business growth opportunities
* Contribute to the success of the business unit by sharing best practice with colleagues, proactively contributing ideas, and supporting others to do the same across the business

Marketing Campaigns and Demand Creation

* Lead on the delivery of the commercial and promotional messaging, tactical planning, B2B and B2C marketing, digital marketing/omnichannel engagement for the portfolio
* Work cross functionally across the organisation to deliver these plans utilising the sales force in co-ordination with digital channels to maximise revenue growth to deliver and exceed business targets
* Create campaigns that allow marketing messages and product information to be easily translatable into the context of the Solution Selling model
* Gather data and feedback from a range of sources - market data, customer visits, field force feedback, market research, publications, conferences and industry contacts. Analyse and interpret; using results of analysis to inform commercial decision making.

Digital Marketing

In line with organisational objectives, this role is a key contributor in our marketing efforts in becoming a leader in digital and data analytics. This includes:

* A strong focus defining and implementing the CA digital strategy. Delivery of robust & effective Direct to Customer campaigns and Direct to Pet Owner
* Within the direct business model create innovative digital customer journeys across our platforms to drive growth of our e-commerce ordering channel. Focus on the customer journey to understand how best to reach the customer at each available touchpoint
* Develop innovative ways of driving digital lead generation and subsequent conversion with sales teams. Ensure that qualified leads are assigned and tracked

Core Responsibilities

* To be the marketing product lead and champion for the portfolio of brands across core therapeutic areas.
* With a depth of market understanding and in-sight lead the creation of the annual marketing plan that supports and maximizes the opportunity to grow, take share and outperform the market
* Build standalone digital customer journeys to support the work of the field force but importantly extend our customer touchpoints outside face-to-face interactions.
* Use digital platforms and processes to accelerate decision making and enhance brand engagement across veterinary practice stakeholders.
* Confidently manage financial forecasting, supply planning and A&P budget management aligned to business planning aspirations and be able to articulate and predict potential challenges to meeting this plan.

Analytical Acumen

* Use data analysis and market intelligence from a variety of sources to develop marketing & tactical planning.
* Use historical data and market intelligence to accurately predict short term and longer-term forecasting parameters for new and existing product lines
* Convert marketing financial planning into dynamic manufacturing forecasting, integrating market trends and new opportunities with excellence in financial acumen.
* Track, manage and invest marketing A&P spend against ROI benchmarks
* Develop ways of using customer intelligence and data to enhance targeting of campaigns and use data to predict outcomes.
* Lead marketing with a digital first approach and develop digital strategies to engage customers across the breath of our portfolio.
* Build on existing CPD and E-commerce platforms to develop a complete customer journey leading to enhanced engagement and customer value.
* Contribute to the CA digital roadmap for a market leading approach.

Experience

* Extensive experience in a previous product management /marketing role, with a high achieving proven track record of developing brand strategy and implementation of successful tactical campaigns both through traditional and digital marketing platforms.
* High level of competence and passion in digital marketing and desire to contribute to an industry leading strategy.
* Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability in annual financial marketing planning and demand forecasting with high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Experience of developing direct to consumer strategies deployed through a B2B business model in a similar or alternative industry
* Excellent project management experience; strong oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills; strong negotiation/persuasion skills
* Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing and executing brand strategies, programs, and tactics to achieve and surpass market share and revenue targets
* Strong similar professional experiences gained in industries or sectors outside of Animal & Human Health are welcomed.

Travel Requirement

* Occasional travel within the UK and overseas
