About the role
The Arboricultural & Local Nature Reserve Team are seeking a motivated and practical Community Operative to support our Arboricultural Team in maintaining trees, green spaces and the wider public realm across North Lincolnshire.
This is a physically demanding, outdoor role where you will take pride in your local environment and play a key part in delivering safe, clean and well-maintained neighbourhoods. Working as part of a team, you will support arboricultural operations alongside general grounds and environmental maintenance duties.
Key responsibilities
As a Community Operative supporting the Arboricultural Team, your duties will include:
1. Assisting arboricultural staff with tree works, including tree care, pruning support and site preparation
2. Carrying out grounds maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and weed control
3. Supporting seasonal works including planting, pruning and general horticultural maintenance
4. Erecting signs, barriers and traffic management where required
5. Safe operation of hand tools, light plant and equipment following pre-use checks
6. Driving light vehicles and transporting equipment between sites
7. Accurate completion of records including timesheets, inspections and task sheets
8. Participation emergency call-outs
9. Working safely at all times in accordance with health and safety legislation
