About Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as an Academic Tutor at the Wakefield campus. This role involves working with a cohort of 16–18-year-old students to deliver our structured tutorial framework through group Progression and Development sessions, while also contributing to delivering GCSE English & Maths.

As part of your responsibilities, you will deliver a broad range of personal development topics including Employability, Prevent, British Values, Mental Health and Wellbeing, and more. You will conduct regular pastoral progress review meetings, support students' academic and personal growth, and ensure the successful delivery of the English & Maths scheme of work.

You will work collaboratively with curriculum staff, the ENMA Team, the Student Services Team, and the Work Placement Team to ensure that students are well-prepared for their next steps and equipped with the life skills and knowledge to keep themselves safe beyond college.

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual who is committed to helping students achieve their full potential. You should have a strong interest in supporting learners through their GCSE resits and be proactive in identifying and removing barriers to success. You'll be a strong team player with the flexibility to work independently when required.

* A good understanding of the 16–18 education sector
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* To plan and deliver high-quality English/Mathematics teaching to the designated level for our students
* Excellent time management and organisational abilities
* A motivational approach to student support and engagement

Start Date: The College operates 2 starter/induction days per month to welcome and onboard new members. These are usually the first Monday and third Wednesday of each month (unless there is a bank holiday).

Askham Bryan College is a specialist land-based college based across the North of England with centres in York, Middlesbrough, Saltaire, Wakefield and Gateshead.
