We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Richmond Mental Health Social Care Team, delivering high-quality, person-centred social care services to adults with enduring mental health needs. About the Role This is a social care-focused position, with work centred exclusively on statutory responsibilities under the Care Act 2014. As a Senior Social Worker, you will play a key leadership role within the team, supporting the Assistant Team Manager and Team Manager while ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and strengths-based practice. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of approximately 15 complex cases Undertake Care Act assessments, reviews, and support planning Provide supervision and support to Social Workers and Social Care Assessors Act as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM), leading Section 42 safeguarding enquiries Promote and maintain high standards of front-line practice Participate in and help oversee the duty rota Work collaboratively with partner agencies and stakeholders Working Arrangements Hybrid working with 40% office-based requirement Mandatory team office days fortnightly on Tuesdays Office presence required when on Duty, in line with the rota Requirements Qualified Social Worker with current registration (e.g. Social Work England) Significant experience in adult mental health social care Strong working knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and safeguarding legislation Experience in supervision, mentoring, or senior-level responsibilities Ability to manage complex cases and support team development Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills What They Offer Competitive rate of £36 per hour Supportive and experienced management team Opportunity to take on a leadership role within a specialist mental health service Flexible hybrid working arrangements A focus on pure statutory social work practice
