Job description

voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled Finance Controller to manage the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations and providing strategic guidance to support growth and sustainability.

Financial Accounting & Reporting

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group.
  • Owner of the production of Management Accounts, KPIs and achieving deadlines.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Present and explain variances to the Finance Director and SMT heads of department.
  • Challenge Heads of Department on financial performance.
  • Support the preparation of annual accounts.
  • Owner of weekly reporting, dashboards and month‑and‑year end routines.
  • Report financial information to external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.

Financial Controls

  • Oversee CAPEX requests, processes and controls.
  • Prepare balance sheet and reconciliations.
  • Prepare fixed assets, depreciation, additions and disposals.
  • Ensure stock, maintenance, flying provisions are appropriately assessed and addressed.
  • Ensure expense and credit‑card policies are followed and maintained.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Support production of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Support commercial assessment of new contracts and tenders.
  • Prepare budget and mid‑term planning.

Audit

  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures.
  • Plan year‑end process and liaise with external auditors and tax advisers.
  • Produce tax pack and accounts analysis to support production of stats and tax computations.
  • Collate information for R&D tax claims and agree analysis schedule.

Working Capital Management

  • Manage cash position and rolling 13‑week forecast.
  • Oversee supplier payments and maintain communications.
  • Oversee debtor invoicing, receipts and maintain customer communications.
  • Authorise bank payments.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns.

Other duties

  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Lead continuous improvement and systems review projects.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 3 ACA qualification, ideally Level 4 ACA.
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team‑management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Chartered Accountant and audit experience.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

What we offer

Core Hours – between 35.5 per week:

  • 0800–1600 Monday
  • 0800–1630 Tuesday–Thursday
  • 0800–1200 Friday

Annual Leave: 22 days PLUS 10 bank holidays, including Christmas closure.

Breaks: Daily 30‑minute unpaid lunch break.

Eligible for annual bonuses.
