Housing Litigation Solicitor | National | Up to £70,000
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Social Housing Litigation solicitor to lead complex, high-value claims while assisting senior leadership in shaping the team’s direction.
This position offers the opportunity to take a leading role in managing complex legal matters, providing strategic counsel to high-profile clients, managing and training junior members of the team and playing an integral part in the continued success and growth of a highly respected practice.
The firm is renowned for delivering exceptional legal services across the voluntary, public, and private sectors, including housing associations, local authorities, and co-operatives.
You will manage a diverse and challenging caseload, working closely with Partners and Senior Associates on complex, high-stakes matters while also overseeing and developing your own portfolio of cases.
Key responsibilities include
* Leading housing litigation claims on behalf of social housing providers
* Overseeing cases involving housing disrepair, statutory nuisance claims, anti-social behaviour, possession proceedings, and housing-related personal injury claims
* Drafting complex legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence
* Conducting disclosure, interviewing witnesses, and undertaking detailed legal research
* Preparing court documents, including instructions to Counsel
* Assisting with the preparation of hearings, including managing evidence and preparing bundles
* Providing high-level advice to clients and negotiating favourable settlements
* Ensuring compliance with case management protocols and key deadlines
The Candidate
* Qualified solicitor or Charted Legal Executive with at least 5 years’ experience in Housing Litigation, preferably on behalf of the Landlord
* A high level of technical proficiency and the capability to manage complex, high-value claims independently
* In-depth knowledge of pre-litigation claims handling and advancing matters through litigation
* Exceptional client relationship management skills, with a focus on providing strategic, solution-driven advice
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple cases under pressure
* Experience Supervising junior members if the team
* Proficiency with case and financial management systems (training available if necessary)
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* A proactive and professional approach, with a commitment to personal development and team leadership
