Job Title: Tax Senior

A well-established and growing independent accountancy practice based in central Glasgow, providing accounting, tax, audit, and business advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, entrepreneurs, partnerships, and private individuals across Scotland and the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join an established team of accounting professionals. This is a varied role offering exposure to both corporate and personal taxation within a general practice environment. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and partners, managing compliance work while assisting with a range of advisory and planning assignments.
The Role
The Tax Senior will be responsible for managing a mixed portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients, ensuring compliance obligations are met efficiently and accurately.
The role offers excellent exposure to a broad range of tax matters and would suit an individual looking to develop their career within a progressive and client-focused practice.
* Manage a portfolio of corporate and personal tax clients.
* Prepare and review corporation tax and self-assessment tax returns.
* Advise clients on a range of corporate and personal tax matters.
* Assist with tax planning projects and advisory work.
* Handle HMRC correspondence, enquiries, and compliance matters.
* Build and maintain strong client relationships.
* Support partners on tax assignments and projects.
* Mentor and support junior team members.
* Keep up to date with changes in tax legislation and practice.
Person Specification
* ATT, ACA, ACCA, CTA, or qualified by experience.
* Relevant experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.
* Experience in both corporate and personal tax compliance.
* Strong understanding of UK taxation and HMRC procedures.
* Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
* Exposure to tax planning and advisory work.
* Experience supervising or reviewing junior staff work.
Skills
* Strong technical tax knowledge.
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
* Good working knowledge of tax and accounts software packages.
