R&D Partners is seeking a Bid Leader for a 12‑month contract based in the UK. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead and influence regional commercial strategy while managing the end‑to‑end bid lifecycle for large‑scale, complex submissions. The position is hybrid, with flexibility for candidates located further afield who can commit to occasional office visits.

Responsibilities
* Lead Bid Strategy: Proactively drive the pre‑tender phase, working with squads and regional Bid Specialists to define winning themes, clarify assumptions, and develop competitive strategies.
* Manage Complex Submissions: Draft and coordinate high‑quality bids and proposals, ensuring all documentation (e.g., risk registers, competitor analysis) is meticulously maintained and submitted on time.
* Stakeholder Influence: Engage with regional leadership teams to shape the opportunity pipeline and lead the critical bid/no‑bid decision‑making process.
* Governance and Quality: Ensure all proposals adhere to brand standards and internal governance, hosting win‑loss reviews to capture lessons learned and refine future strategies.
* Promote Excellence: Champion best‑in‑class proposal standards aligned with APMP guidelines, identify improvements for bid tools, and mentor junior team members.
Key Skills and Requirements
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in bid management with a proven track record in leading complex, large‑scale bid processes.
* Experience drafting technical proposals within a regulated industry, preferably healthcare.
* In‑depth knowledge of public procurement rules, legislation, and procurement frameworks.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor others; experience deputizing for senior leadership is preferred.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence leadership and manage third‑party vendor relationships.
* Proficiency in project management within a bid environment, including resource allocation and risk mitigation.
* APMP certification is preferred.
