Senior Business Analyst required for a leading Commodities Trading organisation, supporting technology initiatives across Front, Middle, and Back Office functions. You will play a critical role in shaping and delivering business-critical change across trading, risk, and operational platforms.
This is a high-impact position within a fast-paced, commercially driven environment. Working closely with Trading, Risk, Operations, and Technology teams, you will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined and solutions are aligned to strategic objectives.
The firm is currently investing heavily in its technology landscape, including:
* Enhancing and scaling commodity trading platforms
* Implementing new risk and P&L reporting capabilities
* Expanding into new products and markets
* Improving data architecture, controls, and regulatory reporting processes
This Senior Business Analyst role offers strong visibility across the full trade lifecycle and the opportunity to contribute to complex, cross-functional transformation initiatives. As Senior Business Analyst, you will lead requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution design across multiple workstreams. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand trading workflows, risk frameworks, and operational processes, translating business needs into clear functional and technical specifications.
Details of the Senior Business Analyst role:
💰 Up to £120,000 + Benefits + Bonus
🚂 Nearest stations: Liverpool Street, St Pauls, Bank
📍 3 days per week onsite, Hybrid
🧑 💻 Experience required:
* Proven experience as a Senior Business Analyst within a commodities or financial trading environment
* Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle (Front to Back Office)
* Experience working within regulated, fast-paced trading environments
* Exposure to Agile and/or hybrid delivery methodologies
Key skills required for the Senior Business Analyst role:
* Commodities trading knowledge – strong understanding of physical and/or derivatives markets, trade capture, risk management, settlements, and reporting processes.
* Requirements & process expertise – highly skilled in eliciting, documenting, and validating complex business requirements, producing clear functional specifications and process maps.
* Stakeholder engagement – confident working directly with Traders, Risk Managers, Operations, and senior technology stakeholders, with the ability to challenge constructively and drive clarity.
* Data & analytical capability – strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex datasets, reconcile issues, and identify gaps, risks, and dependencies.
* Technology collaboration – experienced in partnering with development and architecture teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into scalable technical solutions.
* Change & delivery focus – proactive in supporting testing, implementation, and post-go-live optimisation to ensure successful adoption and measurable business value.
