About the Role
Becker Aviation is seeking a strong leader to direct the company’s next phase of growth in Sales and Technical Support.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Collaborate with Becker’s Leadership Team to develop and execute the growth strategy for Sales, Technical, and Operations Support teams.
* Identify and prioritize opportunities across all sales regions (Domestic U.S. and International).
* Execute against established annual bookings, revenue, and margin targets.
* Coordinate with executive leadership on overall strategy, forecasting, performance, and growth initiatives.
Sales and Business Development
* Actively support and execute sales efforts.
* Oversee bids and proposal efforts, ensuring proper execution, contract administration, invoicing, and payment follow-through.
* Strengthen relationships with customers’ leadership and maintenance program managers.
* Support trade shows, speaking engagements, and training seminars.
Operational Coordination
* Align with Operations to ensure accurate cost proposals and pricing.
* Ensure on-time delivery and margin protection.
Team Leadership & Accountability
* Lead and mentor the Sales and Technical Support team.
* Implement structured bid tracking and reporting discipline.
* Create proactive alert systems for upcoming solicitations.
* Establish pipeline and compliance review cadence.
* Perform other duties and oversight as needed to support business initiatives.
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills
* 4-6 years experience of leadership over a small team (4-6 employees).
* Strong background in commercial sales, aviation ground fueling, or other applicable areas of interest.
* Proven ability to build structured processes and scalable systems.
* Strong leadership, executive presence, and communication skills.
Office Location and Reporting Structure
The Director, Sales & Commercial Development is a senior leadership position reporting directly to the President.
This is a hybrid role with a partial in-office requirement at Becker’s headquarters in East Dundee, IL.
Travel is required approximately 50% of the time for customer meetings, industry trade shows, and internal leadership meetings.
