This full-time position (Monday to Thursday – we don\'t work Fridays) is a client-facing role focused on managing and growing client relationships. You will help steer digiLab\'s market expansion through partnerships, strategic accounts, and sector engagement.
What We\'re Looking For
We\'re looking for a driven, commercially-minded and technically-fluent Account Executive (Engineering) to identify, engage, and close new business opportunities in high-complexity verticals in fusion, fission and related supply chain industries. You will be the face of our AI platform and service offering for prospects and clients within the engineering sector and beyond as we grow.
What You Will Be Doing With Us
* Prospecting and developing new and existing customer relationships within engineering and related industries.
* Be responsible for clear sales quotas within defined sectors.
* Lead the full sales cycle: discovery, solution mapping, demo coordination, proposal, and close.
* Work closely with internal teams of Solutions Engineers, Product, and Business Development to create commercial proposals aligned on customer objectives and technical fit, ensuring revenue through license and service agreements.
* Understand complex technical environments and communicate the value of our AI platform and services in those contexts.
* Develop and execute strategic account growth plans in line with company and sector aims to meet or exceed revenue targets.
* Proactively pursue new departments, use cases, and collaboration opportunities aligned with relevant sector strategies and product roadmaps to grow existing accounts.
* Build strong stakeholder relationships with technical and non-technical buyers (e.g., CTOs, Heads of R&D, Systems Engineers).
* Maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities with accurate forecasting and up-to-date CRM records.
* Stay up to date with sector developments including competitors, trends, technologies, and policy.
* Lead strategic account management and growth, particularly within major engineering consultancies.
* Represent digiLab at industry events through speaking engagements and networking.
What Skills We Are Looking For
* Significant commercial experience, ideally in a similar role.
* STEM degree education (an Engineering or Physics degree is highly desirable).
* Ability to travel regularly to client sites and to digiLab offices in Exeter and Culham.
* Full UK driving licence.
* A desire to understand and apply new areas such as data science, machine learning, and uncertainty quantification.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical ideas to a range of stakeholders.
* A strategic mindset – able to recognise opportunities and analyse potential for commercial growth.
* Strong interest in business and partnerships, with a desire to shape product and technology direction.
In Addition, Some ‘Nice To Haves'
* Technical domain expertise in one or more of the following: mechanical, materials, digital, or systems engineering.
Location
This role will ideally be based either at our Exeter HQ or Oxford (Culham) office, with regular visits to the other. Hybrid options will be considered on a case-by-case basis. It also involves frequent travel to client sites and attendance at conferences both within the UK and occasionally internationally.
