Could you offer advice and support to farmers, landowners and communities who want to help native insect pollinators?
B-Lines are a series of ‘insect pathways’ running through our countryside and towns, along which we are restoring and creating wildflower-rich habitat stepping stones. Avon Wildlife Trust has been working with Buglife on the B-Lines approach since 2014, targeting work to create continuous swathes of wildlife-rich habitat.
Over the past ten years, we have worked with private landowners to create or restore over 170ha of wildflower-rich grassland and several nature-friendly orchards.
As the Nature Recovery Officer, you will work with farmers, landowners and communities to create habitats between these reserves and ensure climate resilience by creating a variety of priority habitats including grasslands, hedgerows, and improving woodland edges.
As the Nature Recovery Officer you will:
* Support habitat improvement works on our reserves.
* Identify sites, providing advice to farmers, landowners and communities about creating or improving nectar-rich habitats.
* Develop and lead volunteer opportunities, guided by the needs of landowners and communities.
* Work with experts at Buglife, who will provide technical advice and training.
