Senior Advisor - Future Agriculture - Environmental Land Management - 31666
The Environment Agency is committed to an inclusive workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We strive to diversify, embrace, and live it for the benefit of staff, communities and the environment.
England is reforming agricultural policy and spending through Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes, moving from the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). ELM schemes incentivise farmers and land managers to deliver water, soil and biodiversity outcomes alongside food production. Working with Defra and delivery partners, you will help improve services to farmers and shape our response to government reviews in line with our EA2030 strategy and targets for water, the environment and climate.
This role will include influencing the design and delivery of incentives within the wider context of shaping our organisational response to government reviews, and delivering the Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier (CSHT) within the Farming and Countryside Programme. You will provide advice in meetings, manage commissions, oversee programme milestones, identify risks and resource requirements, and work with senior leaders across teams and organisations to articulate a scheme that supports outcomes.
The team sits within the Nature & Place Directorate, part of the National Agriculture and Land Team. We work with government, statutory bodies and industry in an agile, fast-paced, flexible environment, and communicate effectively to manage uncertainty and deliver clarity.
