What are we looking for?
We wish to recruit Trustees who are passionate about our charity's work. We seek individuals who can help us with our expansion project with their expertise and skills in securing the necessary support and, ultimately, championing its development and growth. Ideal candidates will have can-do attitudes, very strong networking skills enabling leads for the benefit of the charity, as well as expert knowledge and experience necessary for this exciting transition.
Our ideal Legal Trustee will
Be an experienced law professional
Have the ability to articulate and communicate legal terms and interpretations to the board
Have critical strategic oversight ensuring our Board operates legally, ethically and effectively.
Possess a good grasp of charity (or similar) governance ensuring the Board is up-to-date in their duties and responsibilities.
What will you be doing?
Head2Head Sensory Theatre is a registered special needs and disability theatre charity based in Oxted, Surrey, and celebrating 20 years as a volunteer-led charity We are passionate about making theatre accessible to everyone and understand that families who have a child with a disability face many barriers. We raise awareness, share knowledge and develop new ways to make this happen. We provide opportunities for self-development and learning with a Work Experience Programme to support students transitioning from special school education. We have converted an old milking parlour into a welcoming and inclusive community hub for the special needs' community and also the elderly, frail, lonely and those living with dementia.
We are looking for a Legal Trustee to join our expanding Trustee board and your role will include
Ensuring that the charity complies with legal requirements and fulfils its legal responsibilities
Providing advice and guidance to the board on specific legal areas
Evaluating and assessing any particular legal risks
Having a strong commitment to raising awareness of special needs and disability issues.
