Group Head of Financial Planning & Analysis – PE-Backed, High-Growth Business Services Group

A Private Equity–backed, high-growth Business Services Group based in Essex is seeking a Group Head of FP&A to lead the organisation’s financial planning, forecasting, and performance insight capabilities. Following significant investment and rapid expansion, the business is strengthening its Group Finance function and requires a commercially minded FP&A leader to deliver robust analysis, high-quality reporting, and investor-ready insight.
This is a key opportunity to shape and elevate the FP&A agenda in a fast-paced environment undergoing meaningful change and professionalisation.
The Opportunity
In this newly defined Group-level role, you will:
* Lead the Group’s budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning cycle.
* Own and refine the consolidated Group financial model, providing scenario analysis and forward-looking insight.
* Produce high-quality monthly and quarterly performance reporting and dashboards.
* Support Private Equity investor and Board reporting with clear, accurate, and timely financial information.
* Co-ordinate reporting timetables across divisional finance teams.
* Partner with senior leadership to identify risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
* Drive improvements in FP&A processes, reporting standards, and Group-wide planning capability.
About You
You’ll bring a strong blend of technical expertise, commercial acumen, and polished communication skills. The ideal candidate will have:
* Fully qualified accountant status (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with strong post-qualification experience.
* Group FP&A experience, ideally within a PE-backed environment.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling ability.
* Proven experience managing consolidated budgets and forecasts.
* Strong analytical and presentation skills with the ability to simplify complex data.
* Excellent organisational skills and confidence managing deadlines in a high-performance, investor-facing setting.
* A collaborative, proactive style with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience with Dynamics 365 or Power BI (desirable but not essential).
