Autism Anglia is a well-established independent charity with opportunities available for Senior Support Workers on a full-time basis at our Peldon Campus in Colchester, Essex.

Salary:
£25,022.90 per annum (£12.97 per hour)
Hours:
Full-Time Hours; 37 hours per week, overtime available

The Role:
1. Working in partnership with the team to provide a strengths-based, outcome-focused approach for all individuals.
2. Maintaining the dignity, respect, and privacy of each individual supported by assisting with personal care, health, and hygiene activities, including sport, leisure, cultural, and recreational activities such as day trips, short breaks, or holidays.
3. Supporting communication, psychological monitoring, intervention, and sensory support tasks.
4. Ensuring the quality of support meets the identified needs and that all relevant documentation is regularly reviewed.

Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, or in a similar role, preferably with autism or learning disabilities.
* Full UK Manual Driving License and ability to drive mobility vehicles.
* Ability to identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals, including those with communication needs.
* Experience with autism and intensive behavioral support, activity coordination, and knowledge of local opportunities.
* Strong communication skills.
* Understanding of safeguarding procedures for vulnerable adults.
