As Chef at Debenhams Group, you'll assist the Head Chef in menu planning, including but not exclusive to a full breakfast and lunch service, daily hot specials, buffets and ‘grab & go’ fresh food products. This is an initial 3 month contract with the potential to extend or go permanent.

All locations are accessible by public transport and a driving license is not essential for this role.
Menu Planning: Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, including but not exclusive to a full breakfast and lunch service, daily hot specials, buffets and ‘grab & go’ fresh food products.
Food Preparation: You are directly accountable for all food production and catering at the scheduled office.
Quality Control: Monitor food quality, adhere to health and safety regulations, and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Co-manage food specifications, recipe templates and ingredient costings alongside senior F&B team.
Ensure dishes are consistent, production is efficient, and management of the process is carried out at every stage right through from ordering produce, managing deliveries, storing foods, prepping, cooking, auditing and presenting to service
Supervise kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
Inventory Management: Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste.
~ Statutory Duties: Ensure that all administration of food safety and due diligence; in respect of statutory and legal requirements is met by the business to obtain and maintain 5-star food hygiene records. Ensuring temperature records, SFBB and food labelling are maintained and up to date and comply with Natasha’s law October 2021 for all PPDS, Calorie labelling in the out of home sector April 2022 and FSA allergen regulations ‘FIR 2013’
~ Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role in a fast-paced kitchen environment
Ability to work under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a busy kitchen
Passion for food and a commitment to know your customer
Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
