Crabbers’ Wharf is looking for a friendly, proactive Guest & Operations Assistant to join our growing team. Based at Crabbers’ Wharf, a waterfront development of luxury holiday cabins in Castletown, Portland, this is a hands-on, varied role that combines guest experience with day-to-day site operations. Working Hours Monday to Friday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm Saturday: Required on a rota basis Additional hours available during peak periods (especially summer) Pay £13.00 – £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience) What You’ll Do Guest Experience & Check-Ins Welcome guests and act as a key point of contact on arrival Handle check-ins, guest queries, and issues in real time Ensure every guest enjoys a smooth and memorable stay Site Operations Support Provide on-site support across the development Assist with guest-facing activities, including pontoon and kayak use Maintain a visible, approachable presence on site Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns Operations & Coordination Monitor bookings, arrivals, and daily activity Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and contractors Ensure issues are logged, tracked, and resolved efficiently Office & Administration Manage emails, calls, and booking systems Keep records and communications up to date Support daily handovers and maintain operational flow What We’re Looking For Essential: Experience in hospitality, customer service, or operational roles Strong communication skills (phone, in-person, and written) Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks Able to work independently and take initiative A proactive team player with a positive, can-do attitude Good attention to detail and problem-solving ability Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends Desirable: Experience in holiday lets, leisure, or property Experience coordinating with contractors or site operations Additional Information Participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota is required Opportunity for additional hours during busy periods This role works closely with the Estate Manager and is expected to grow as the business expands If you take pride in your work and want to be part of a unique coastal destination, Crabbers’ Wharf would love to hear from you.
