Head of Clinical Services
Location: Bristol
Salary: £75,000-£90,000 per annum (DOE)
About the Role
We are a leading provider of NHS and private ophthalmology services, delivering outpatient care, diagnostics, and advanced eye surgery across a growing network of UK clinics. Our focus is on accessible, high-quality eye care and a supportive, inclusive workplace.
This is a permanent, full-time role (40 hours).
The Role
As Head of Clinical Services, you will provide senior clinical leadership, reporting to the Clinical Directors. You will shape clinical strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead the development of clinical teams and services across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
Lead clinical protocols, standards, and training programmes
Oversee clinical governance, audits, CPD, and compliance
Drive adoption of advanced diagnostic technologies
Lead and develop multidisciplinary clinical teams
Monitor clinical performance, KPIs, and patient outcomes
Support enhanced eye care pathways and external partnerships
What We're Looking For
Essential:
GOC-registered optometrist
10+ years post-qualification experience, including senior leadership
Strong clinical governance and training background
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of CQC, NHS standards, and ICB requirements
