Join Our Team as a Residential Childcare Support Worker!

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people? LCS is on the lookout for committed and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to work full-time, with a flexible schedule that includes 35 hours per week plus sleep-in shifts.


Salary and Working Conditions

* Basic Salary: £22,367.80
* Potential Earnings: Up to £27,983.80 with sleep-in shifts
* Location: Leeds
* Shift Pattern: Rota basis, including evenings and weekends


Your Role

As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in helping young people transition towards independence. Your responsibilities will include:

* Providing practical support and guidance tailored to individual care plans.
* Building positive relationships with young people, staff, and professionals through effective communication.
* Supporting young people in Education, Employment, and Training, ensuring they achieve their learning qualifications.
* Maintaining community links, such as educational provisions, sports centers, and youth clubs.


What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following:

* Flexibility: Availability for shift work, including sleep-in nights, evenings, and weekends.
* Qualifications: Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to study towards this.
* Experience: Working with attachment and trauma, challenging behavior, or mental health issues is desirable.
* Understanding: Knowledge of the challenges faced by young people in care.
* Transportation: A full driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable, but good public transport links are available.
* Computer Skills: Intermediate level experience.
