The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen within the ICST East Kilbride Team. A Band 7 Advanced Practitioner OT post has been created via skills mix to further support and maximise delivery on the current Discharge without Delay Agenda within Lanarkshire. The Advanced Practitioner OT will work across a multi-professional and multi-agency agenda basis using specialist skills and knowledge underpinned across the 4 pillars of practice. This will further ensure that we are maximizing function, reducing deconditioning, preventing hospital admission where appropriate, supporting people to return home as quickly as possible where hospital admission has been required, and delivering on the issues that people tell us really matter to them to enable them to live their lives in the way they want to. The Advanced Practitioner will have the lead role in the delivery and development of specialist Occupational Therapy services for an NHSL-wide clinical area. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, work as an autonomous practitioner using specialist skills and knowledge. Undertake advanced assessment, diagnostics, and treatment to ensure a high standard of clinical intervention. Be responsible for practice education and assessment of Occupational Therapy students. Lead clinical audits and undertake research applicable to the specialist area of work. NHS Lanarkshire Have you always wanted to work with NHS Lanarkshire? What we'll need you to bring Degree in Occupational Therapy with valid HCPC Registration Educated to Master's degree in occupational therapy or relevant specialty, or evidence of working towards Master's level qualification Evidence of working at Level 7 Advanced Practitioner of the NMAHP Development Framework A range of postgraduate education and short specialist courses relevant to the specialty. Highly specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the clinical specialty. Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines, standards and legislation relevant to the speciality. Evidence of highly developed leadership skills. Evidence of research, audit and quality improvement methodologies. Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills Evidence of learning, development and teaching & skills. Effective time management and prioritisation skills Working knowledge of basic information technology Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence. It would be great if you also have A full valid UK driving licence holder would be desirable for this position to meet the needs of the service. The working pattern for this role is Day Shift.
