TEXO Recruitment are currently looking for a Shift Maintenance Technician on behalf our external client located in Sunderland. The Shift Maintenance Technician (Production Engineer) plays a key role in ensuring engineering excellence across fault resolution, maintenance, and overall site performance. Core responsibilities span Quality, Health & Safety, Manufacturing Performance, and Engineering Support. The role focuses on maximising operational effectiveness, reliability, cost efficiency, and sustainability through the application of preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance. Success requires a commitment to continuous improvement, adherence to mechanical and electrical best practices, and strong diagnostic capability (MTTR/MTBF) to minimise downtime and enhance performance. Knowledge, Skills & Experience * 3 years’ multiskilled (electrical & mechanical) maintenance in manufacturing (FMCG preferred). * 17th Edition (18th Edition desirable – qualification can be provided) * Strong in planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance. * HACCP and HSE legislation knowledge. * Experience with PLCs (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley), MMIs, SCADA, inverters, and control systems. * Desirable: experience with can seaming, filling, robotics (Kuka, FANUC), and Lean/TPM. * Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT (Word/Excel) skills. Qualifications * HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) with 3 years’ relevant experience. * OR 6 years’ transferable experience with proven results. * 18th Edition, PLC qualifications, Lean/TPM training, and electrical testing/inspection certifications are desirable.
