Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Compliance Manager to ensure our operations meet all legal, regulatory, and safety standards. This role will focus on both plant and fleet compliance as well as general compliance within the construction industry, including street works. You will play a key role in ensuring that all vehicles, equipment, and operational processes adhere to industry regulations, company policies, and relevant legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance programs related to plant and fleet management, as well as general compliance within the construction industry, including street works regulations.
* Monitor and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations for all vehicles, equipment, and construction activities, including compliance with New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA).
* Manage documentation for compliance, including MOTs, service records, safety checks, certifications, street works permits, and notices.
* Coordinate with fleet managers to ensure proper maintenance, licensing, and training for vehicle operators.
* Conduct audits and inspections to identify non-compliance, including site safety checks and street works compliance audits, and implement corrective actions.
* Attend commercial and compliance meetings, providing updates on fleet, plant, and street works compliance status.
* Investigate and resolve compliance issues, including liaising with regulatory bodies and local authorities when necessary.
* Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations, including traffic management legislation and construction compliance standards, and implement new practices as required.
* Train staff on compliance procedures related to plant and fleet management, construction site compliance, and street works regulations.
* Maintain accurate records and generate reports on compliance activities, including non-conformance reports, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
* Support and advise on construction compliance strategies, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, PUWER, and other relevant legislation.
* Facilitate compliance with permit requirements for street works, including section 50 licenses and statutory undertaker obligations.

Skills and Experience:

* Proven experience as a Compliance Manager or in a similar role within construction, utilities, or infrastructure.
* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations related to plant, fleet, and construction site operations, including street works compliance.
* In-depth knowledge of NRSWA regulations, CDM regulations, and other relevant legislation.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage compliance documentation efficiently and effectively.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and compliance management software.
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Full UK driving license.

Qualifications:

* Relevant qualifications in compliance, health and safety, fleet management, or street works.
* IOSH or NEBOSH certification (preferred).
* NRSWA Supervisor/Operative certification (preferred).
* Experience in managing compliance for plant, fleet, and street works within the construction or utilities sector is highly desirable.
