The Houston Botanic Garden seeks an inspiring Director of Horticulture to lead its horticulture team in creating world-class displays, managing living collections, and advancing our mission of education, conservation, and sustainability. This role provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for staff, interns, and volunteers while ensuring the highest horticultural standards.
The Director will oversee plant health, nurseries, propagation, and records; guide garden design and development; and manage budgets and capital projects. A skilled communicator and collaborator, the Director will inspire diverse audiences, publish research, and represent HBG with donors, partners, and the public.
