Post: Education and Youth Engagement Officer
Contract: Full-time (Fixed term for 2.5 years)
Salary:£25,500 -31,000 per annum (Depending on experience)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Reporting to: Training and Development Manager
Savera UK provide all staff with:
* Holiday: 28 annual leave, plus bank holidays

* Pension: Employer contribution of 3% gross of employment
**Location: The post holder's office location will be Liverpool, but they will also need to work where relevant/required, including travelling.Therefore, a full, clean driving licence, and use of own car is essential, and mileage will be reimbursed (car insurance, must include business insurance)
Please note that due to the nature of Savera UK’s work and for security purposes, they do not disclose the location of the post until the successful candidate is appointed. However, we can confirm that their registered head office is around 30-minute walk or 15/20 minutes by car/public transport from where this postholder will be based.

Join us as the Education and Youth Engagement Officer, within the Training and Education Team, where you will be taking an active lead and you will be expected to build on your existing knowledge of or passion for human rights, by proactively developing a deep understanding of the multi-layered and ever-changing nature of our work.
Primary Purpose of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for Savera UK’s Youth and Education programme. They will also help to facilitate and assist Savera UK’s Youth Collective working with their youth engagement activities, campaigns and programmes.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Experience and expertise in working within an educational setting and with young people
* Experience delivering and facilitating workshops
* Experience in creating a range of activities to help young people learn and engage both within education and community settings
* Have relevant qualifications, training that will support your work in this area
* Have experience of voluntary or paid work in areas of social deprivation and/or within diverse communities affected by ‘honour’-based abuse (desirable but not required)
Skills, Communication & Abilities:
* Recognise the importance of learning from experience
* Excellent interpersonal communication skills to work across all levels of the organisation
* Ability to present relevant information confidently to a variety of audiences
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Flexibility and adaptability to work evenings and weekends when necessary
* Effectively present information
* Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Ability to work independently

Knowledge:
* Knowledge of relevant Government Policies around ‘honour’-based abuse and harmful practices, domestic abuse/violence and any other relevant legislation
* Understanding of child/adult safeguarding and protection processes
* Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in managing the demands and challenges of the role
* Understanding the importance of risk assessments/safety measures, and planning
* Knowledge of GDPR
Any Other Requirement:
* Understanding of ‘honour’-based abuse, harmful practices and their impact
* Understanding of the relationship between domestic violence/abuse and those affected by ‘honour’-based abuse and harmful practices
* Knowledge of local and national services relevant to our work
