Job overview
The post holder will undertake telephone triage assessments of patients efficiently.
They will advise the most appropriate intervention to meet the needs of the patient using best clinical practice, adhering to Trust Policy, protocols and guidelines.
Will work in an autonomous capacity, assessing and advising callers within agreed guidelines.
Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 Triage and Assessment Paramedic you will:
* Use clinical assessment skills to help and advise a broad spectrum of patients, from minor ailments to complex urgent conditions.
* Make clinical decisions in a remote setting, supported by senior clinicians and multi-disciplinary teams.
* Work closely with GP’s, pharmacists and other partners to support urgent care needs.
* Engage with thousands of patients each week and make a real difference to people’s lives.
Qualifications and experience
* NMC Registered Nurse (adult or child) or HCPC Registered Paramedic with post‑registration experience as a Paramedic in front line services.
* Evidence of regular update training and continuous professional development as required by regulating body.
* Ability to work independently with sound clinical decision‑making skills.
* English and/or Welsh speaking. Ability to speak Welsh desirable.
