Location: Swansea: Fairwood Training Ground, Stadium or Academy Training Ground
Contract: 40 hours per week / flexible working pattern including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Deliver all elements of qualifications completed to the necessary standards.
* Lead briefings and allocate all jobs fairly and evenly, if staff are trained and competent.
* Prepare, maintain, and repair all playing surfaces; natural and synthetic.
* Participate in future planning and initiative working groups, focusing on renovations, landscaping, biodiversity, sustainability, and pitch programming.
* Deputise in the absence of the Head of Grounds, managing staffing, planning, machinery, procurement, and site operations in conjunction with site leads.
* Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring weekly, monthly, and annual maintenance programs, including renovations.
* Perform daily pitch maintenance duties such as mowing, aerating, line marking, verti-draining, spraying, and fertilising.
* Ensure high standards of surface quality, amenities, and work areas.
* Contribute to project planning and resource estimation.
* Maintain machinery and equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and servicing, and address faults promptly.
* Carry out irrigation maintenance and repairs as needed.
* Support resource efficiency initiatives.
* Collaborate with team members to provide effective and efficient service.
* Encourage inclusive ideas and support team development.
* Promote safe working practices by example.
* Liaise with coaching and management staff during training sessions, including irrigation application.
* Complete all required paperwork daily.
* Manage winter protection measures, including gritting and frost sheets.
About The Candidate
Person Specification
* Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Sportsturf Management or working towards it.
* PA1 spraying license.
* Level 3 Diploma in Sports Turf Management or working towards it.
* Understanding of lighting rigs and under-soil heating systems.
* Awareness of H&S regulations relevant to the role.
* Experience working with hybrid and fibre sand pitches.
* Knowledge of legislation regarding chemicals and hazardous substances.
* Full driving license.
* Minimum of 5 years industry experience.
* PA2 and PA6 spraying licenses.
