Balfour Beatty is recruiting a Project Manager to join Balvac, our specialist construction and remediation business working on some of the UK’s most technically challenging projects.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where you’ll take full responsibility for safely delivering projects to time, cost and quality standards – while building strong customer relationships and driving continuous improvement.
What you’ll be doing
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver projects safely, on time and within budget, with full P&L responsibility
* Lead safety with passion and credibility, embedding a Zero Harm culture and driving continuous improvement
* Engage closely with customers to manage change, expectations and long‑term relationships
* Drive strong sustainability performance, promoting efficient management of waste, energy and water
* Embed operational excellence through leadership health checks and rigorous monthly project improvement processes
* Ensure effective planning, risk management, project controls and reporting
* Apply Lean construction principles and digital tools such as BIM360Field to optimise performance and safety
* Maintain a strong understanding of contract terms and conditions to support commercial decision‑making

Who we’re looking for
* Experience in project management within the construction sector
* Confident leader with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Commercially aware with experience managing project finances
* Experience or strong understanding of Lean construction principles (desirable)
* Valid CSCS card
* Professional qualification (e.g. APMP) – desirable
