Worcester Area Manager, Utility Arboriculture
Hybrid role in Worcestershire (home- and field-based with some office work)
Permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week)

BTS Group is looking for a Utility Arboriculture Area Manager to cover the Worcestershire area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, manager looking for a challenge while working within a supportive, established business.
BTS has just started an eight-year vegetation management contract with NGED which covers the whole of the West Midlands – an exciting time to join the business. We are now recruiting for an Area Manager to oversee the programme of works in Worcestershire.
Our work involves keeping the power grid clear of vegetation. It’s a high-risk industry that requires skills and planning to carry out works effectively and safely. It’s also immensely rewarding for the right candidate.
As the Area Manager, your main responsibility will be to oversee the successful delivery of our vegetation management programme, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and safety guidelines. You will work closely with the Senior Contract Manager to improve best practices, contribute to business development, and promote a culture of safety within our organisation.
This role is home- and field-based, with occasional travel to our regional office in Shrewsbury.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing direct and subcontracted operatives, ensuring they have the correct training, authorisation and tools to carry out work safely
* Conduct Site Safety Visits, meeting six-monthly targets to audit each operative in your area
* Establish effective work plans
* Develop a commercial approach to contract delivery, meeting budget expectations
* Develop and maintain good working relationship with the client
* Manage customer expectations and deal with enquiries and complaints in a timely, professional and courteous manner
Essential skills and experience:
* Full UK driving licence
* Excellent organisational skills and motivation
* Proven ability to lead teams effectively
* Commitment to professional development and training
* Understanding of strict health and safety operations
* Ability to carry out field-based risk assessments
Desirable skills and experience:
* Experience/qualifications in an arboricultural, horticultural, land management or related industry
* Experience/qualifications in a utilities industry
* Comparable management experience and/or qualifications
