(Agency Temp – Business Support / Credit Analyst)

Role Purpose
Provide first-line credit analysis support during a busy trading period. The role focuses on assessing and structuring credit proposals, monitoring exposures, and ensuring compliance with the firm's risk appetite, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Assessment & Structuring
* Conduct independent analysis of new and annual credit proposals, reviewing company financials, industry risks and other relevant data.
* Prepare concise credit reports and recommend mitigations to ensure risks are appropriately ring-fenced.
* Collaborate with second line Risk teams to agree credit terms and risk controls.
Monitoring & Reporting
* Track and report on credit exposures, limits and concentrations across portfolios.
* Monitor daily excess reports and follow up with timely explanations or escalations.
* Oversee facility renewals, ensuring up-to-date customer information and on-time processing.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to management information (MI) and dashboards.
Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with Relationship Managers to complete annual reviews and maintain high-quality client files.
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure adherence to policies, FCA Consumer Duty standards, and good customer outcomes.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum 5 years' experience in trade finance credit analysis within UK financial services.
* Strong knowledge of international trade finance instruments and structured trade finance.
* Proven ability to interpret financial statements, assess credit risk, and prepare clear written reports.
* Familiarity with UK regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel III, IFRS 9); exposure to African or other emerging markets is an advantage.
* Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with Power BI, Python or SQL is a plus.
* Professional certification such as CFA, ACCA, ICMA or equivalent is desirable.
