We are seeking a highly motivated Midwife with an interest in ultrasound to train as a Midwife Sonographer. This is a great career development opportunity with a permanent position upon successful training completion. The role involves providing fertility, early pregnancy, and obstetric ultrasound examinations.
The Trainee will work at least 30 hours per week in the Maternity Ultrasound Department, including a university day during term time. The training involves a Post Graduate Certificate in Medical Ultrasound starting September 2025, lasting at least 1 year. Each trainee will have a dedicated mentor, and upon certification, will undertake a Preceptorship period.
A minimum of 30 hours per week as a Band 7 Midwife Sonographer will be offered post-qualification, with a commitment to work in the department for at least 2 years. The role requires working across multiple sites, including a modern Consultant Unit and several MLUs, with an annual birth rate of around 4,500.
