Marks Sattin Executive Search is working with a high-growth, PE-backed media business entering a pivotal phase of development. With strong commercial traction, an expanding client portfolio, and a clear strategic plan, the business is now seeking to appoint its first Chief Financial Officer to lead the financial function and shape the financial strategy across both the UK and International operations.
In this pivotal role, the CFO will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing finance function, introducing structure, rigour, and analytical insight to support informed decision-making and profitable growth. A key focus will be the implementation of modern financial systems, reporting frameworks, and project accounting, ensuring accuracy, control, and visibility across all business units. You will drive the adoption of data-led KPIs to give the Board and investors clear transparency on performance, value creation, and operational efficiency.
The role will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing strategic guidance around budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and scenario planning, while establishing the governance, systems, and processes required to support scalable, international growth. This is an opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up and play a central role in delivering the next phase of expansion and shareholder value creation.
The Ideal Candidate:
* A qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA).
* Proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director within a PE-backed or privately owned media, marketing, Professional Services or project-based services business, operating across multiple jurisdictions.
* Demonstrated success in building and transforming finance teams, implementing systems, and embedding robust processes and controls.
* Hands-on technical capability across management and project accounting, revenue recognition, cash management, and tax in multi-entity operations.
* Experience managing UK and US reporting, payroll, and statutory compliance, with strong understanding of GAAP and cross-border finance.
* Commercially astute, data-driven, and highly collaborative, with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and investors.
