Job Purpose
An Inbound Controller manages the efficient flow of goods, materials, or information into a warehouse or company system. They coordinate, track, and process incoming deliveries, verify inventory accuracy, and manage supplier documentation to ensure smooth operations. Key responsibilities include updating inventory systems, managing 3PL relationships, and communicating with procurement.
Key Responsibilities
* Responsible for all External/Allied supplier goods receiving transactions into the 3PL warehouse, ensuring all documentation is available to receive and put away inbound goods.
* Support creation of 3PL inbound booking plans.
* Produce a monthly inbound plan for midterm/long term planning of inbound volumes.
* Engage with freight providers to identify opportunities within Portal access and reporting.
* Serve as single contact point for warehouse issue resolution relating to external suppliers at each 3PL facility via telephone and email, ensuring alternative contacts are available when main contact is unavailable.
* Escalation contact point for inbound freight providers on issues relating to warehouse receiving.
* Manage potential demurrage charges into 3PLs, avoiding cost penalties.
* Resolve and communicate external supplier shortages and surpluses, liaising with material controllers to complete review and action plans within 10 working days.
* Document and maintain process workflows covering all relevant activities.
* Support other department functions to investigate and resolve outstanding invoice resolutions.
* Produce stock reconciliation reports aligned with financial approval, showing operational transaction values and KPIs.
* Analyze and act on stock reconciliation to maintain inventory alignment between SAP and WMS, maintaining data integrity between Delphi ERP and 3PL warehouse software.
* Liaise with customs agents to ensure documentation is available and delays or charges are avoided.
* Review and approve customs providers VAT & tax charges, ensuring correct level of charge is applied against invoices.
What We’re Looking For
* Self‑motivated, well‑organized team player able to work under pressure.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
* Knowledgeable in logistics market (3PLs, freight carriers, equipment providers).
* Understanding of warehouse, transport, and customs operations.
* Familiar with WMS and ERP systems (SAP an advantage).
