Job Description: Stock Controller (Maternity Cover)
Lely is the world's leading manufacturer of automated milking equipment with over 50,000 robotic milking machines installed worldwide. Unique within the dairy sector, Lely distribute all products through the successful Lely Center franchise network.
We are looking to recruit a stock controller (initially covering for maternity leave) to oversee the efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of a range of parts, goods and stock items.
The successful candidate will be responsible for a vital part of the supply chain, managing processes and systems to ensure parts are received and dispatched appropriately and that our productivity targets are met.
Main Responsibilities and Duties Include
* Maintaining warehouse and stores operations
* Picking, packing and dispatching parts/goods
* Processing incoming/outgoing orders
* Administering stock control including stock items, PPE, consumables etc.
* Operating IT systems
* Ensuring that delivery deadlines are met
* Answering parts phone calls and taking orders from customers
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation
* Supervise daily activities for the warehouse, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, logistics, shipping, cleanliness and customer service
* Daily forklift checks to be performed
* Oversee and manage logistics utilised to transport parts to customers, communicating with engineers to ensure efficient service is achieved
* Attend regular managerial meetings
* General housekeeping e.g. bin emptying, keeping stores and warehouse clean, tidy and debris free
* To undertake any other duties as may be required within the scope of the post
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
The Stock Controller will have frequent contact with customers, colleagues and suppliers and they must be capable of maintaining the relationship between the customer and Lely Center Yeovil.
The post holder is required to be self-motivated and able to work without supervision as part of a successful team with an enthusiastic 'can do' attitude, be prepared to share ideas and have an eye for detail.
It is essential that the post holder:
* Can manage their own time, work on their own initiative and be able to prioritise & multitask
* Has a proven track record within a similar position
* Can demonstrate proficient knowledge of warehouse procedure and policy
* Has excellent problem-solving skills
* Can demonstrate the ability to work with all levels of company staff, suppliers and customers
* Is comfortable delivering frequent written and oral feedback
* Hold a full UK driving licence and be able to independently commute
* Can demonstrate excellent team working skills
* Has competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office or similar
* Has proficient time management ability
* Has strong interpersonal skills
* Will possess experience working in a store's environment, preferably from an engineering and/or agricultural background
* Has a valid counterbalance forklift licence (or willingness to train towards gaining this)
It is desirable that the post holder:
* Has worked on CRM or ERP system(s)
* Is First Aid and/or Fire Marshall trained
Schedule:
* Monday to Friday
* Weekend availability
Salary:
· £27,500 - £30,000
