Responsibilities
* Support teaching and learning in the classroom under the direction of the class teacher.
* Provide support in Welsh and English, promoting the use of Welsh language across the curriculum and in everyday school life.
* Work with individuals and small groups of pupils to reinforce learning and aid progression.
* Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.
* Support pupils with additional learning needs (ALN), ensuring an inclusive approach.
* Help to maintain a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.
* Contribute to assessment, recording, and reporting of pupils' progress as required.
* Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents and carers.
* Promote the school's ethos, values and commitment to bilingualism.
Person Specification
Essential:
* Fluent Welsh and English language skills (spoken and written).
* Experience of working with children in a school or similar setting.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and use initiative when required.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* A flexible, positive and patient approach.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Desirable:
* Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience supporting pupils with ALN.
* Knowledge of the Welsh Curriculum.
* First Aid training.
