The University of Leicester is seeking a proactive and experienced Security Operations Manager to support the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused security services across the campus. Working within Estates and Digital Services, you will play a key role in leading and developing the operational security teams, ensuring consistent standards, effective deployment, and compliance with University policies and industry requirements. This post exists to provide operational leadership across the hours not covered by the current postholder, who is reducing their working pattern. You will work closely with the Head of Security and other Security Managers to maintain continuity of service and ensure that staffing, technology, and procedures support a safe and resilient campus environment. About you You will have proven experience supervising security or frontline operational teams in a busy environment, with the ability to produce robust risk assessments, event and incident response plans, and other operational documents required for compliance. You will understand the practical requirements of preparing for Martyn’s Law, including threat awareness, mitigation planning, and the development of proportionate response procedures. You will be confident managing rotas, prioritising demand, and making decisions under pressure. Strong communication skills, experience working with CCTV and control room systems, and a sound understanding of risk, confidentiality, and health and safety are essential. This role requires someone who is calm, organised, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality, compliant, and customer-focused security services.
