Hutchison Ports – Port of Felixstowe is the UK’s largest deep water container port and a major gateway for global trade. As a Automated Operations Coordinator, you will be reporting to the Senior Manager Automated Operations and Transformation, the role holder will be tasked with coordinating and optimising our Automated Operations (AO) by overseeing both Remote Crane (RYC) Operators and Autonomous Truck (AT) activities, maintaining high standards in AO processes and procedures, whilst constantly striving to improve AO effectiveness.

Working closely with the Service Delivery Team the role holder will also assist in monitoring and producing reports to support the continuous development and performance in the AO function, alongside improving automated equipment systems and processes deployed within Port of Felixstowe Operations.

Role Overview

Key responsibilities

10. Focal point for all RYC and AT related operational activities
11. Deliver unambiguous safety leadership to your team, based on the HPUK Leadership Guide, ensuring the vision to tackle all issues and the department/shift safety plan is communicated, understood and embedded in the business following the correct policies and procedures
12. Deploying RYC Operators to tasks and/or training/support duties whilst managing shift changeovers and breaks to optimise performance and utilisation levels
13. Proactively monitor, evaluate, and address RYC and AT operational performance
14. Use Terminal Operations Systems to ensure adherence to SLAs and proactively identify opportunities to improve customer service
15. Provide coaching, mentoring and support interventions as appropriate to aid your teams’ personal growth and development
16. Identify and document any AO operational inefficiencies, proactively seeking opportunities for improvement, offering recommendations as appropriate
17. Ensure AO daily equipment checks are completed correctly and efficiently to ensure customer service requirements are met

What you need

18. At least 2 years’ operational coordination and/or supervisory experience
19. Excellent IT skills with ability to use Windows based systems and MS Office
20. Lead by example and promote high standards; manage conduct and behaviour accordingly
21. Excellent problem solver with ability to use own initiative
22. Current and valid full UK Driving Licence (Manual)

Shifts & Pay

23. Basic salary: £50,267
24. Shift Pay: £14,414
25. Hours: This role is a 24/7 shift-based role following our standard 4 on / 4 off pattern working an overall average 42hr week including breaks.
