As Joint Audit, Risk and Assurance Panel Chairperson you will provide leadership to the Joint Audit, Risk and Assurance Panel (JARAP) to effectively discharge the JARAP Terms of Reference, establish procedures to govern the Committee’s work, and create/manage effective working relationships with Panel members, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), the Chief Constable, Section 151 officers, nominated representatives from the OPCC and OCC, and auditors.
10‑15 days per annum, including meetings, reading papers and training for up to 4 years.
£5,625 per annum, plus travel expenses.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Act as the JARAP’s spokesperson.
* Meet with auditors to discuss issues raised from their audit activity.
* Meet with the Chief Finance Officer of both the PCC and Chief Constable to discuss risk and control related issues that the JARAP will consider.
What We Need From You
* Knowledge or interest in local community issues and previous experience in a local or community leadership role (non‑political).
* Experience of having an impact at local level and ability to bring people together and work as a team player.
* Experience of leading meetings and encouraging participation of others.
* Excellent communication skills and confidence in speaking up.
* Ability to actively participate in meetings and examine evidence and complex documentation.
* Ability to take an independent, unbiased view and maintain integrity, accountability, and honesty.
* Over 18, live or work in Leicester, Leicestershire or Rutland, and be able to attend meetings at Leicestershire Police Headquarters during the working day.
