Responsibilities
1. Lead all commercial functions including estimating, procurement, quantity surveying and cost control
2. Develop and implement commercial strategy aligned with business objectives
3. Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting across the development portfolio
4. Manage contracts, negotiations and supplier relationships
5. Ensure robust risk management and governance processes
6. Drive value engineering and cost efficiencies without compromising quality
7. Support land acquisition, appraisals and viability assessments
8. Provide strategic advice to the executive team and board
9. Lead, mentor and develop the commercial team
About You
10. Proven experience in a senior commercial leadership role within housebuilding, residential development or social/affordable housing
11. Strong knowledge of development appraisals, contracts and procurement routes
12. Demonstrable track record of delivering multi-site residential schemes
13. Excellent financial acumen and commercial judgement
14. Experienced in leading and developing teams
15. Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
16. Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related discipline (MRICS desirable)
