Offer description

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist interested in joining a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals to deliver the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2019) in the London Borough of Hounslow.

West London NHS Trust's Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services provide specialist care to patients experiencing cognitive problems and dementia that impact their daily activities.

This is a permanent B7 Specialist OT position within the Ealing CIDS team. The post holder will have both clinical and managerial responsibilities, overseeing OT team members. Opportunities include working closely with a Specialist nurse within the CIDS team and deputising for the Team Manager, CIDS.

The B7 post is based in the vibrant London Borough of Ealing.

The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people’s mental health service line. Patients referred to this service typically have cognitive impairments requiring dementia screening and potential diagnosis.

The Occupational Therapy service also provides post-diagnostic supports, including cognitive rehabilitation, advice on dementia-friendly design, equipment provision, and support to carers and families. They collaborate with activity coordinators and psychology colleagues to facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities, either in clinics or via electronic platforms.

The OPMHS OT team is diverse, including members trained overseas. We offer a robust induction and training program to integrate new team members. We are committed to our team members’ health, well-being, and career development.

West London NHS Trust is one of the UK's most diverse healthcare providers, offering a range of mental health, physical healthcare, and community services. The Trust manages Broadmoor Hospital, a high secure hospital with an international reputation, and provides secure services across London boroughs. It employs over 5,000 staff, with 59% from BME backgrounds. Our turnover for 2024-25 exceeds £500m.

The Trust has a 'Good' overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, with forensic services rated 'Outstanding'. It is actively involved in the development of the North West London Integrated Care System and leads the NW London Children and Adolescent Mental Health provider collaborative.

The Candidate Pack attached offers an overview of key responsibilities, and the person specification details the necessary qualifications, skills, experience, and knowledge. Please review these documents.

This advert closes on Wednesday, 27 August 2025.
