We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist interested in joining a team of enthusiastic and committed professionals to deliver the Prime Minister’s Challenge on Dementia (2015) and the NHS Long Term Plan for Older Adults Mental Health services (2019) in the London Borough of Hounslow.
West London NHS Trust's Cognitive Impairment and Dementia services provide specialist care to patients experiencing cognitive problems and dementia that impact their daily activities.
This is a permanent B7 Specialist OT position within the Ealing CIDS team. The post holder will have both clinical and managerial responsibilities, overseeing OT team members. Opportunities include working closely with a Specialist nurse within the CIDS team and deputising for the Team Manager, CIDS.
The B7 post is based in the vibrant London Borough of Ealing.
The post holder will be an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and the wider occupational therapy team within the older people’s mental health service line. Patients referred to this service typically have cognitive impairments requiring dementia screening and potential diagnosis.
The Occupational Therapy service also provides post-diagnostic supports, including cognitive rehabilitation, advice on dementia-friendly design, equipment provision, and support to carers and families. They collaborate with activity coordinators and psychology colleagues to facilitate group and individual therapeutic activities, either in clinics or via electronic platforms.
