Depot Manager

Responsibilities
Staff & Leadership
* Managing staff and delegating tasks to ensure performance targets are met.
* Dealing with staff issues, motivating them, and ensuring a good and happy working environment.
* Positively managing the performance of the team and addressing performance issues in conjunction with a Regional Manager or Director.
* Leading and influencing a team across both operational and commercial departments.
* Applying the company’s values and standards consistently, ensuring a strong and positive culture is maintained on site.
* Engaging with multiple internal and external stakeholders to support the development, coaching, and continuous improvement of all team members.
Performance & Sales
* Meeting budget targets through achievement of required sales volume and sales margin.
* Ensuring proactive approach to sales and developing depot sales in line with Board direction.
* Maintaining existing customer accounts and developing new accounts and relationships with customers.
* Ensuring the depot holds optimal stock level and range.
* Ensuring warehouse logistics are as efficient as possible.
Premises, Health and Safety
* Ensuring that all depot employees are operating in a clean and safe environment, which meets all Health & Safety requirements, as advised by Group Health & Safety Manager.
* Ensuring that all points raised in any Health & Safety inspection are resolved within the agreed timescale with H&S Manager.
* Ensuring premises are maintained in a good state of repair, and any expenditure exceeding depot manager approval limits is highlighted for Regional Manager or Director approval.
Stock Management and Housekeeping
* Ensuring stock limits are not breached.
* Ensuring all depot housekeeping procedures are adhered to and any issues noted are dealt with in required timescales.
Depot Running Expenditure
* Authority to approve expense payments within agreed limits for general depot running costs, premises, plant and equipment maintenance, and vehicle maintenance.
Ideal Candidate
* Be an experienced people leader with a proven record of managing across multidisciplinary teams.
* Live within approximately 1 hour of the site.
* Demonstrate ambition, drive, and the ability to facilitate positive change and continuous improvement.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5 pm.
