Are you a good organiser, with good problem-solving skills? Do you have experience in managing and operating a water distribution network? If so, our regional control room is looking for a Network Response Controller.
What you'll do
This role is part of a six-person shift team integrated with the supply operations and network response team. It is a pivotal role co-ordinating our 24/7 response to water supply interruptions, reducing service failure, and optimising performance throughout.
* Ensure a consistent tactical response to unplanned incidents and monitor planned network interventions. This includes coordinating repairs and initiating supply restorations.
* Liaise closely with operations, repair teams, science, customer services, and work scheduling. Act as a key point of contact, coordinate responses, and inform stakeholders throughout an event, providing clear timelines and details on affected customer numbers and assets.
* Proactively identify innovative ways to reduce supply interruptions and develop smarter systems for effective responses to network issues.
* Participate in a 24/7 shift rota and undertake standby duties, including weekends. Continuously develop your skills to demonstrate competency in the role.
* Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the business.
* Maintain a flexible approach to work with a strong emphasis on team working.
* Ideally, have proven experience in water supply management and operation.
* Be proactive and creative in your approach to daily tasks within a regulated industry.
* Possess good PC literacy skills to operate multiple IT systems, including telemetry alarms and data analysis.
